My Story

As a Carmel Valley native, my love for mathematics began in middle school – thanks to a lucky streak of caring teachers who revealed the beauty of mathematics. In 12th grade, I decided to become a math educator after my Calc BC teacher cut up fruit and donuts to illustrate the Shell Method. I was amazed that math could be so tangible and fun!

I also understand that math confidence doesn’t always come easily. When I started college, many of my peers had years of math competitions under their belt. It felt like I was starting from behind. But a kind professor encouraged me to persevere, reinvigorating my love for math.

That experience shapes how I teach today: I meet students where they are, encourage them every step of the way, and help them see that with the right guidance, they can accomplish far more than they imagined.​​​​​
